25% Goal Completed

That's right bitches, after about 6 1/2 weeks I'm past the 25% completion mark. I feel pretty good about this also. Although I'm about $1500 off of pace, I have nothing to complain about. My 75% win percentage and an hourly rate getting back into the +$50 mode, I have to feel good about my chances of completing this goal.

I graduate college in a couple weeks and I'm moving back to NY which might make it hard to play a ton for the month of May. I will be moving back and forth from Boston to NY bringing stuff home and saying goodbye to friends. I'm not very concerned about it though. I've got plenty of time to tackle the next $15k+.

The month ends tomorrow, and while I started out great as far as playing more hours, after a 1 week hiatus it looks as though I'll fall short. This is deceiving though. I actually have played more hands in less time than I did last month. Poker is about hands, NOT hours. We'll see what the calculations are tomorrow.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1048722 Standard 2 pair ditch 9 handed.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1048724 So this is a hand actually worth talking about. I decide not to reraise the button after he min raises. I've been playing extremely tight 9 handed, and really taking the post flop route to MUCH success. My numbers are almost embarrassingly tight at about 16.5/7.5 after 5,500 hands. ANYWAY, I decide to check the flop with the big draw, and go for a check raise. The button puts another suspicious min bet and I want to see where I'm at. He then reraises me. So here is my problem. I have a huge draw here, but based on the timing, and the info hes given me, I realize I have NO fold equity, or close to it. I'm not a big fan of the 12 out shove race here. If I felt there was any chance of him folding, re raising is a clear choice. Now the turn comes and I check fold. I know this is ultra passive, but the players on this site are so bad that I feel it's unnecessary to invest large amounts of money in race situations preflop or on the flop. HAD THIS BEEN FULL TILT, I would have been all in on the flop. Whats the best line here other than raising the flop again?

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1048730 Can't win em all. O well, this guy was ultra suck-tastic too. Shitty part was I know exactly what he has and I clearly have to get it in here. He had just open shoved with 23s so no way I'm folding.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1048731 Another awful player that I took to valuetown. He has AJo here just fyi, even though it doesn't show it in the HH.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1048735 I spent a bit of time with Keith going over this hand. I'm ahead of his range on the turn (58%) after running it through pokerstove. Based on table dynamic and his timing and his lack of involvement in any pot, I really felt like I was behind once the turn hit. This was really close for me but my gut said fold. Most importantly I thought he would be bluffing here MAX 20% of the time. He ended up with T6s for a full house which again isn't shown here. But how would you play this TPTK in a limped pot 9 handed?

Back at it/End Week 6

601+ Hands

So I took almost this entire week off and played a whopping 6 1/2 hours. I feel good though. I definitely needed the break, and even though I wasn't planning on taking a week off, I realize now how important it was. I've decided that i'm going to stick with 3 tables of bodog and maybe through in another 9handed full tilt table also. So my hand counts will be down, but my expectation on bodog has shown itself to be pretty astonishing over the last 5k hands. The play is undeniably easier too.

I played at least 601 hands today in 3 hours which isn't a bad hand per hour. (pokertracker missed about 20 hands) It was definitely cool pushing 425+ hands an hour but I think this will be much more beneficial for me. More relaxed, longer sessions, happier to play.

I've fallen off my pace quite considerably, but I'm not entirely worried. I had 2 break even weeks, and this week was incredibly short as far as hours worked. I was shooting for 1k a week average, and even after all that time off/cold weeks, I'm just $1800 off pace. April has been QUITE slow so far, but let's see if I can't put together a good run over the next several days and pull together a respectable month total.

No hands cause bodogs are harder to fetch, and none of them are that interesting to me, except the ones where I get it in on the turn a 9.5:1 favorite and lose. WAHH WAHHHHH

Not playing that much

So the weather finally got better in Boston, and I certainly haven't been playing a lot this week. I only have a few weeks lefts with my college friends, and I think it's ok to spend this time with them. On top of that I actually have a few projects, and proficiencies to prepare for school. I'm really trying to feel more comfortable taking my time with this goal. I definitely want to me motivated, and dedicated to playing a lot, but right now I need to make sure I enjoy myself before college is over. I keep telling people that August is my goal date to move, and it still is, however I think September could be just as good. I really don't want to put as much pressure on myself as I have been, and i think my results will improve. I never play my A game when I'm anxious.

I've played a few short sessions here and there with average results. I'm running ice cold on full tilt, but I've never made as many hands as I've made on Bodog. I'll post my results later.

Crazy Day/ End Week 5

1,027

So today I crushed on Bodog and got in terrible situations on Full Tilt. I really feel like I played very well, but boy were there some really tough spots. I ended up a small winner, and I was thinking about dropping FT completely, but I can't play more than 3 tables on bodog, and I still have a 6bb/100 over the last 20k hands on FT.

I got PAhud but it doesn't work. I finally dled the new beta but it's unstable. It worked for like a second and then it fucked up and that was that. I really think PA hud is absolutely necessary on that site. Those fuckers are crazy. Plus, I run at least 400% better on bodog. I actually was 65% W$aSD on both sites, but I simply made a ton more hands on bodog.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1013485 I've had to cut down on my continuation bets. Guys have been calling 2 barrels with a pair of deuces.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1013490 Standard AA laydown.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1013492 It's like squeezing water from a rock getting value on this site.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1013497 I try so hard not to put in a weak line, but the stack sizes indicate all in or fold on the flop. What do you think?

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1013498 Me feeling guilty calling with top two on an ultra dry board. God full tilt is brutal.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1013500 More horrific spots on full tilt. Man this site is hard.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1013504 Hehe, see, I even suck out AND get paid on bodog.

Holler

1,118 Hands

My buddy Drew is in town and I decided today would be a good day for a day off. The swings have been getting to me, but last night I was able to pull out a good win. Unfortunately I lost a $390 side pot right at the end of the session or I'd have had a 1k day.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1009318 I mean, this hand stinks, but I don't think I can fold the river here. Damn board pair.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1009322 Pretty crazy situation here, but i'm not calling ANY river raise with a crap two pair in this spot.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1009328 So here I make a bad read on the flop. But take him to "valuetown" anyway.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1009333 Here I make my hand, and i'm getting MAX value. No questions asked.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1009336 I make another poor flop read against a short stack and suck out. Woops.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1009340 A beautiful donation from 22.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1009343 I expect my fair share of these situations in sessions to come. I'm due.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1009344 I get way way better hands on bodog that hold up.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1009346 Shows him for playing top 2 pair like that. lol

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1009348 BOOOOOO I was destined for a 1k day, I swear. O well.

Back to normal

1,443 hands.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1002821 Standard, me getting lucky he was short.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1002822 Standard or weak? Fold the flop? Raise the flop?

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1002827 His tiny lead screams flush draw. And I was certain I was toast. But when you get hammered over and over you start to second guess yourself.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1002829 I'm going to have to be more aggressive with my AK from now on at FT.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1002831 Standard? Am I supposed to 3 bet here?

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1002832 Shitty spot. I think this is a fold though. He only raised 7 with one limper. Suspicious.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1002836 Standard? Weak?

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1002839 Again? I can't possibly call here?

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1002845 Obviously.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1002850 Again, I think this is super standard. But I'm questioning everything at this point.

Cooling Off

Edit: I now have a winning record in HU SNG's agaisnt Jake.

So reading over those last posts was pretty comical. They were very therapeutic to write, and I've decided not to take them down. I played a 600 hand session last night and it went well. I also played a couple of tables of $25 max on bodog with Jake while watching the the Yankee game. That shit went on for 13 innings. It was super fun to play those limits, and I forgot how fun poker is when you can just sit and dominate everyone at the table. I think I had my stack to about 5+ buy ins when I sat out.

I'm really happy with my 6 table layout right now and I'm going to stick to it. I think bodog will add a lot to my hourly, as well as the rakeback I will get, which will be a nice bonus. I picked up a transfer for $319 yesterday for full tilt rakeback which was cool, but I think I can expect $600+ a month from the site now that I'm playing more and I don't have any bonuses clearing (they take away from your MGR.)

O, I also went back to the store to get another pint of "cinnamon bun" ice cream, by ben and jerry's. They didn't have any more so got creme brule'. It was good, but sweet as hell and I couldn't eat as much as I would like. Everyone try the cinnamon bun.

8oB-lights

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1000934 Pretty standard here, but I think I was getting too nit picky in these situations. I need to shove this flop like every single time. I might have been 3x raising here and losing value on scary turn cards in the past week. Either way this guy is going with his hand in this situation.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1000942 SOOOOOO important to make sure the players are your table sit with a full stack. O well...

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1000943 Keith says this is an easy laydown but I still think it's Quasi-baller.

AND NOW FOR THE BODOG HANDS!!! I played 173 hands on bodog full ring and I made about 4 hands. I got paid off at least somewhat on EVERY SINGLE ONE. Here are three I dug up from pokertracker.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1000957 I just keep betting and they keep paying!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1000960 I'm so used to getting pushed off my hand when the flush card hits. This is great! I might have even missed value. lol

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1000965 So many river calls on bodog! This could be great for me.

Day's conclusion/More lowlights

Finished the day with some more laydowns, and several monsters on extremely wet boards with no action. I played 1400+ hands today.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?997002 More weak/standard over pair laydowns.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?997005 I'm so weak it's pathetic.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?997007 Me getting pwned. Bet the turn?

http://www.pokerhand.org/?997008 He was supposed to ship it, but no stamps I guess.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?997009 My win % with AA and KK is like 98% over the last 20k hands. lol

http://www.pokerhand.org/?997027 I flop the nuts again... can't anyone flop a pair?

http://www.pokerhand.org/?997010 I gotta make money with hands like these eventually...

http://www.pokerhand.org/?997011 And thats the end of the session.... So lame.

If I got paid off in 2 of these hands I posted today, I would have netted a big win. I'm just note getting the big pots I need to counter the beats/me getting outplayed/me folding overpairs.

Im sick and tired of this shit

Nobody sits and makes tougher folds than me at this limit. No one. I sit, I get sucked out on over and over again. I grind back, and start it all over again. Over and over and over again. The same story. I'm sick and tired of laying down overpairs. I'm sick of the utg min raising calling my raise and check raising all in for over a buy in on a 7hi flop and I fold JJ. I get 3 bet over and over and over again from the blinds, and I have to fold fucking AJ preflop at a penny limit poker game. It's nearly impossible to raise my pre flop raise % because of all the 3 betting. I'm sick of reading other blogs of a huge list of monster hands and monster payoffs. I haven't gotten paid off AT ALL month. All I can do is pray to break even with the amount I'm making with my made hands. And then this shit? http://www.pokerhand.org/?995873 FUCK THAT. I can't begin to tell you how many fucking hands I get no action with. I have to wait an entire month to get into a pot like this. It is IMPOSSIBLE to win day in and day out on this website, at this limit, and at this time of INCREDIBLY tough online poker players. I'm 100% confident in my game, and my ability to CRUSH this fucking limit. I spend all day trying to improve and being incredibly hard on myself to try and be the best player at this limit. I'm sick and tired of running bad for 10-50 thousand fucking hands. I guarantee you that any regular player at this limit with my cards would be down thousands and thousands this month. I'm sick of this.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?995894 FUCK THIS HAND!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?995896 FUCK FOLDING ACES WHEN I'M BEAT!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?995898 FUCK GETTING 3 BET 100 TIMES IN A ROW AND THEN GETTING NO ACTION!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?995901 FUCK FOLDING OVERPAIRS!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?995904 FUCK IDIOTS CATCHING MIRACLE FLOPS WHEN DOMINATED!

Booked a good one

So a couple of my friends have confronted me about my river call in this hand http://www.pokerhand.org/?991695 I really don't think the river is an issue. My raise on the flop was designed to get a larger pair to come over the top and let me know I'm no good. I think it actually just worried him about me flopping trips, but either way he isn't going to re raise me. On the turn he slow plays, not considering all the cards that can kill the action. Or maybe he thinks I have quads or something. ANYWAY, on the river I'm getting 4:1. And I ran some hand ranges on pokerstove. I decided that A6, JJ-77 was an extremely fair range. Don't get all fed up with A6 though. A6 is representing EVERY SINGLE hand I can POSSIBLY beat. So that takes into account all bluffs and non bluffs I can beat. With this range I have 34% equity! Clear call. Even if we include AA-77 I'm still 24% equity. And still a +ev call on the river. So I hope that clears up the river.

I actually ended up 6 tabling full ring tables today for a few hours. I ran 3 on bodog (max amount of tables) and they were way way easier than the 3 full tilt tables I ran. But then I checked out Fruity Pros blog, who is another $200 6max Full tilt player, and he just had an enormous list of him getting hands and destroying noobs. I realized that I shouldn't give up on the 6max just yet. I haven't been getting paid off for two weeks, and I was super confident I could have the same results if things just started to go my way a little more.

So I made about $400 on bodog full ring and lost $350 on full tilt showing down the nut flush or better and losing my only two showdowns. But I put in a 400 hand 6max session on fulltilt and actually got paid off in several hands! Its crazy how much getting paid off counterfeits all the bad beats. Anyway, here are some low lights.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?995154 So this guy folded KK on the flop full ring style. An immediate sign that full ring might be a little easier.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?995158 God I hate this game.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?995159 These are the pots that happen over and over again that have prevented me from making any considerable profit in the last couple weeks. Without any big pots to counteract, I'm stuck playing break even poker.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?995163 Sorry sir, if you thought a min raise was suspect 6handed, it's certainly not gunna fly 9 handed.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?995164 O COME ON ALREADY!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?995167 Obviously... man this site is suspect.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?995170 I mean, CLEARLY i'm supposed to put him on AK limping in the small blind.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?995171 I feel like all of my hands were like this, and fruity pros just ended up with an all in from AQ. PAY ME DAMNIT.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?995177 This hand was super tricky for me. If I make a decent c-bet on the flop, and he shoves, I have to call with getting over 3:1. So I'm kind of handcuffed. On the turn though, I feel I certainly have to bet, and I make an interesting sized bet to take the pot down. How would you play it given the stack sizes?

http://www.pokerhand.org/?995185 Standard laydown.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?995190 So annoying. After all this mess I actually only ended up netting 80 bucks. Mr A7 took my other 90. Lame.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?995194 I LOVE this hand. I played it aggressive and ended up free rolling for $440. Ship it.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?995197 LOL, this would only work on bodog.

End Week 4

So I ended up with another lackluster week. Very disappointing for me, but I don't think I played badly at all. I also took a couple of days off this week, which clearly isn't going to have me making much money anyway. I'm obviously not having the level of success on Full Tilt that I was last month, but I'm going to give it another few days before checking out the bodog $200 full ring. I have money on there so it's no big deal. We'll see.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?991648 Pretty ultra standard here, but I think i was cold calling a little too much in the past.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?991654 Anyone opt for a different line here? I mean, I could check call, but the turn is a must bet. Lots of draws show up. What do you think?

http://www.pokerhand.org/?991660 Pretty funny hand, no way I'm overcalling though.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?991662 I put him on a hand like KJ from the turn. And he actually ended up having KJ. I think my line is fine here.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?991666 Yay for donations from small stacks!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?991668 LOL, this guy gets there and THEN checks?

http://www.pokerhand.org/?991674 Pretty ugly hand, but I dont hate my line here. I decided to fire a second barrel, and if he doesn't pick up the spade draw hes out. The river is a block value, and MOSTLY just value. Not sure what to think about this one.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?991680 I mean, this is pretty much how the week has gone. I'm making some big hands, but my opponents are sitting with like $40 or something.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?991684 Gotta keep firing here. And man, it's way more fun to be 2 barreling successfully.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?991685 I'm showing a lot of 2 barrel small pots because basically that's where all my profit has come from this week.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?991686 See what I mean?

http://www.pokerhand.org/?991688 Pretty big laydown here, but after he thinks for a long time on the flop, and then puts in exactly 3x raise, I'm not feeling so hot. I really think I need to make these kinds of laydowns with this particular read and gut feeling. That's really what NL is about IMO.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?991691 It's never fun when 88 is 4 betting you all in preflop... unless you have kings obv.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?991695 This hand ruined the session. I don't think I can fold the river... but maybe I can. Or maybe check fold the turn? Bah... big pots with full houses.

O I also received a tiny amount of rakeback on bodog from last month. I should be getting a couple hundred from full tilt too. This month should be much better for rakeback, which is good.

Back in action

So I took a good break and came back to pretty much the exact same thing. Not running to well, but breaking even is more than acceptable. I should be back to 1k hands a day now. Let's see if I can't make any money.

Btw I ran 22/16 today. Lots of preflop action. But I think it's time to step it up.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986686 Tried some head up cash and had pretty much the same luck.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986690 Here is how to lose 100$ without seeing a flop. This guy had 3 bet me like this 3 rotations in a row. He said he had KK obviously. So sick.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986697 These hands were making me WAY more money a couple weeks ago. Just a matter of time I guess.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986699 I played much more aggro today. Firing more 2nd barrels.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986705 Hehe, it's like pulling teeth getting these guys money.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986706 More 2 barrel action.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986709 Just a matter of time...

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986712 The most interesting hand of the session. I know I know... I have a huge draw. But so what? The problem here is that my opponents have shown me I have next to NO fold equity. What does that mean? It means if I shove all in I'm getting called by at least one guy. So what? Well most importantly, I'm likely not the only one with a flush draw. There are 2 outs gone right there. And if someone has the nut flush draw I'm practically toast. Turns out I was against another flush draw with a jack. All in is NOT the option here. Even though I obviously would have won the hand I am really pleased with my thought process here.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986720 Sooner or later....

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986722 Hopefully sooner....

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986729 Obviously right? I mean, I'm just getting slaughtered with AK. And I was getting 3:1 there on the end so I think it was a clear call.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986730 Here I got my first donation from T3.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986733 Laying hands like this down is getting really really annoying.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986734 So I finally make a successful all in call on the flop. I mean, the fact that guys are making this play at this limit is nuts. Yeah he looks like a total fish in the hand. But if I have like 99 or worse, I'm in a hell of a tough spot. Really crazy play.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986741 So here is a case where if you are going to check for value, you have to be willing to give up the hand. He made something on the river for sure.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986747 Again, some crazy action with 79. If I don't have an overpair I have to fold. Tough aggressive opponents. They look nuts, and they are, but they have so much fold equity with these shoves. And they aren't just shoving every flop either.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986753 I think I played this hand great. I certainly have to fold to this river bet though. I can beat a stone bluff.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986758 If I didn't fade this draw I would have lost it lol. Thank god my whole session didn't get screwed.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986760 HELP... I am TOTALLY clueless as to what to do in this hand. The big stack to my right is a extreme aggro. I just don't know if I can play any other line here.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?986762 Lots of kids are playing big pairs like this these days. Not like I can call anyway.

Almost a day off

So yesterday I only played an hour of break even cash games and decided to try and refresh myself with a full day off. Well, after looking at some other people's blogs tonight I decided that they weren't the only ones that could get top set all in against 7 hi and win hundreds of dollars. So I played a short 90 minute session with some success. I called it quits when it was time to meet a friend at the bar.

O YEAH! So my friend Jake asked about a $7 dollar tourney on bodog and I decided to do it with him. Well, he was out in the first hour and I really had a hard time taking it seriously. I actually went to go pick up food right in the middle of it. The sick part was that when I got back I saw two red aces folded, what timing right? Anyway, there were 437 entrants and out of nowhere I found myself chip leader. I ended up all in with insane blinds with AQ vs 22 and I was down to 9k. Then I doubled a few times and it was all in or fold time. Needless to say, I ended up shoving against AA two hands in a row and came in 11th! UGH!!!!!! The worst part was the horrible prize I received. O well, at least it's good to know that I can pretty much destroy low limit MTT's with hardly any effort. 11/437 ain't to shabby anyway. Here's today's hands.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?977252 I mean... maybe I'm just a big fish... but more likely... I'm just way better than you. This was an easy fold based on my opps speed to action and his tendencies.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?977254 Back to NOT 4 betting with AK preflop. Why do you ask? Well check out the next hand.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?977256 FUCK 2 buy in races preflop AT BEST!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?977257 I swear I feel like I spend all day folding overpairs. Hey I can beat AK at least! He insta shoved btw, which explains my text.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?977260 Where is the 3 bet when you need it? This time 10000x.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?977264 Hey JAMIE why don't you try playing more LAG and PWN people like you used to on bodog? Because they always have the nuts on this site! DUH!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?977267 Have you tried firing multiple barrels? YES. P.S. WTF!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?977269 You are such a noob Jamie! Why didn't you raise the turn/fold the river? Cause this guy just showed down 9hi and Thi in 2 consecutive pots. Besides, Fulltilt 1-2 NLHE plays like 200-400 PLOH!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?977273 I guess I should wear a sign on my head. "I HAVE THE NUTS"

http://www.pokerhand.org/?977275 FINALLY! A donation from a weekend donkey! Thanks for making me believe I'm still good at poker! YAY MONEY! $$$$$$

http://www.pokerhand.org/?977277 Did I mention that people suck at poker soooo bad?!?!?!? HAHAHAH ship it 55!!!!!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?977279 But jamie, don't you ever make monsters by accident and win huge pots? I DO make monsters by accident, but instead I fold cause I'm so much better than everyone else. PS I WAS TOAST ON THE TURN.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?977284 WHAT?!?!! FLOP AGGRESSION WORKS WITH AK!??!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?977286 Too tight right? WRONG! Two insta pots and I KNOW I'm toast here. How? Because I'm BETTER THAN YOU. I will NOT go broke with one pair here when I know I'm toast. Don't believe me? This is no limit. And while it certainly isn't high stakes, you have to make ridiculous lay downs when you know you are beat. FUCK YOU AQ/AA/KK!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?977291 So wait Jamie... you NEVER win when you accidentally flop the nuts? NO ASSHOLE!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?977292 The sick part is I almost just called the river! I absolutely KNEW he had a flush. But with the 3rd nuts I HAD to raise, and I WASN'T happy about it. What could be sicker jamie? WELL! He JUST called with a flush at 1-2 NL!!!!! I swear I'd be at 5-10 NL if this was 3 years ago.

Thank god for the donations this session.

In a rut

So this is actually the first day of week 4.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?971261 Obv.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?971262 So you think I should just stop giving these kids credit already don't you?

http://www.pokerhand.org/?971266 But then this happens. Back to check folding AK!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?971268 Cold as ice.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?971270 Times like a thousand.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?971272 Small pot, but at that point, quite laughable.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?971273 Picked a bad day to try and open up and play a little more aggressively. They just had it today I guess.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?971276 Me desperately trying to open up preflop. I simply couldn't.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?971281 I would have preferred if these guys got aggro with me preflop around these times.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?971282 Ultra aggro guy. At first I put him on nothing with no spade. But I'm almost certain he flopped the nuts in this hand. Just because of my notes on him, and he hadn't played a hand like that the entire hour with him at the table.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?971286 No 2 barrelling allowed!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?971290 But if I don't 2 barrel, a guy shows me a float with 48o?!?!?!?

http://www.pokerhand.org/?971291 Yay I can beat KT!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?971295 LOL, DUH JAMIE! STUPID BET!

http://www.pokerhand.org/?971304 Same guy that showed me the 48o float.

Doing the Impossible / End Week 3

Today was a total wreck to start. After 3 hours ad 950 hands I had taken some of the worse beats I've taken in a while. I managed to minimize my losses though after two or 3 $400-$500 pots got shipped the other way. I was super frustrated and figured I'd call it a day, but in my last hour I went on a total tear. I pulled ahead and booked a win, and I honestly can't tell you how.

I may or may not take today off. The last four have been quite frustrating, and my threshold for bad beats has taken a hit. I still work on keeping my cool, and although I feel I'm better at it than I ever was, after several frustrating days, I can feel myself getting angry a lot easier.

Check these out.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?969472 Who is in favor of a preflop push here? His raise was pretty instant.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?969474 Only time you get action with a set on this site. SO sick.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?969485 Unbearably brutal

http://www.pokerhand.org/?969488 Who likes a call here? I think I'm good like 0% of the time in this spot.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?969492 Sad face times one hundred.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?969497 This guy min reraised me for the 4th straight time out of the blinds preflop. I'm sorry, but his overshove just makes no sense to me. I just couldn't give him credit for the nuts on that board. Woops I guess.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?969501 Enough already with these miny reraises and suckouts.

Not getting better

Fulltilt sucked as usual today. I got way way above average starting hands and got no action. I grinded myself a decent win over the 3 hours, but I got overpair vs baby set and KK vs TT and Axs and lost that. So, another even session.

The good news is that I think I'm starting to adjust a little better preflop. I'm making some more crucial 3 bets that are allowing me to take the pot down both preflop, and on the flop more easily. Hopefully things pick up in the next couple days, I'm starting to get really frustrated with my results.

Hands.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?964814 My suckout of the day.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?964818 Ultra ugly hand. I just couldn't get anyone to fold today.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?964823 This guy was so full of shit the whole session. It's a good thing I had the monstrous 22 to make the gangster call down.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?964825 I just don't get full tilt. I guess I should be happy he didn't shove with the nuts.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?964830 I need to stop giving everyone so much credit preflop and continue to adjust like this. Pots like these were as big as they got for me today.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?964831 It was like pulling teeth getting any money out of anyone today.

Add in AK vs KK and JJ vs 66 on 762 and that was my day. O well. Even is better than a big fat loss. But my hole cards were incredible.

Yuck

So today I did what I said I wouldn't. and accidentally reraised to $150 on the river while chatting in the chat box. Super pissed, but I'm getting over it. Didn't run so well today either, but worked it back to a reasonable loss. I was stuck 3 buy ins at my worst. And boy the coolers just rack up on Full Tilt.

One thing I wanted to share was a game I played back when I lived in my college dorm. I was messing around at a $50 max Pot limit omaha table and flopped the nuts. On the river, the flush card hit and my opponent moved all in. I was so pissed that I slammed my desk with my hand. The thing was that I had just bought the new wireless Mac mouse (which broke eventually due to head up poker online) which was super sensitive. It automatically clicked call and I won the pot. My opponent was bluffing. I got a round of "nice call" from everyone at the table. I took the pot, sat out and left. So I guess it took over a year for the misclick to get even. O well.

One other thing; note that A-rod will win the MVP this year. Holler at that MONSTER shot he hit today. :)

Hands (ugly)

http://www.pokerhand.org/?961694 Nuts vs the nuts as usual. At least I got there :)

http://www.pokerhand.org/?961695 Uggles.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?961700 I convinced him I had nothing I suppose. I went for a double chance here on the 4th diamond. Thing is, if he has a flush, I'll lose like nothing playing it this way. Also, if he has a flush odds are less for counterfeit flush card. O, also, if he has A3hi and no draw I get paid like whoah.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?961704 PUKE! Note that this table was playing 26% preflop! This one sucked.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?961708 Open limp Q2o. This times like 100 today.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?961710 J6? For real?

http://www.pokerhand.org/?961712 I hate to play this weak, but seriously, every time the 3 bet gets looked up, it's the nuts on this site. I'll pick a better spot and not pray he has AK or TT.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?961716 Very odd situation here. I could have shoved the turn, but either the non all in opp had air or a set (again.) I likely wasn't folding any river, but certainly not that one. Note that I had to resuck on 78o. Would have been disappointing.

Avoiding a bad start

So I was starting to think I'd start every month off with a bad session, but I stuck it out for a break even day which is great cause I was -$500 in the first hour. Fulltilt played like usual, get your kings in bad against a baby set on a dry board. Get your baby set in against aces and win a bit pot. Get your nut straight in vs the 2nd nut straight. Get your KT in vs AT on TTx in a limped pot. I played at my friends house so I haven't imported my hand histories yet. There really isn't much interesting to see I don't think, minus one baller laydown on the flop by me. I'll post it later.

One thing I've been having trouble with lately is the chat box on full tilt. I've noticed a lot of the same faces from solid players and I've tried chatting with them. I think it would help to develop some sort of relationship with the pro's at my limit. Anyway, when you hit enter in the chat box, and it becomes your action, you end up putting in a min raise. 3 times this week I min raised while trying to chat, and one time I min reraised preflop. A real bummer but luckily I didn't lose too much because of it. I actually ended up luckboxing on the hand I 3 bet by accident and hit a big flop. I'm going to have to pay more attention so this doesn't happen again though.
