Well, it's been a while, and now I'm in Las Vegas. The move went pretty smoothly and I'm having a great time out here. Still waiting on my couch to be delivered, but I picked up some nice things for the place and it's really starting to shape up around here. The weather is great out here, and I'm starting to settle into a routine.
I clearly didn't play a ton of poker this month but I had great results despite that. I'm going to look into a new laptop, and I found a sick 24" sceptre monitor with better specs than my 30" dell which I might get for $360! Crazy sick price, and would go well with the new lappy. It's 1080p res, 2ms response time! (my dell is 12ms) and it has 4000:1 contrast ration which is ridiculous.
Next month I really want to play as many hands as possible, now that I'm almost completely settled in it should be much easier to get the hands in.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1540328 The only really interesting hand that has come up in a while. Put yourself in the heat of the moment. Your opponent is a 14/5 regular who you've played with a bunch.
Here are my results for September.

$705 7th/2,281 Rake the Rake Monthly $30k

The Opponent in the hand ended up having QQQ.

Goal Complete!
Took a few weeks longer than I had expected, but I got it done. Pretty big day for me. I will keep updating the blog periodically, but I doubt I'll give daily updates for a little while. If anyone has ideas for another goal let me know. I may start one up again in a few weeks
Maybe I'll write a little more about this goal being over later...
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1440604 Funny hand.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1440606 Weird hand, but when he insta leads the turn, I'm not sure what I can beat?
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1440609 I kinda froze as to what to do, but I didn't want any card coming on the turn to kill my action. Big pot for me.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1440614 If there was ever an "easy" fold with KK preflop, this was it.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1440616 What a dream flop. I guess I could have checked.. but look at all those people!

Ugh
So I guess I really didn't even have a chance yesterday. I ran bad all day, and I couldn't buy a pot with a set or overpair. I think I got stacked 5 times yesterday, so I guess the results weren't as bad as they could have been.
I don't feel like posting any of the hands because it will just frustrate me. They aren't interesting at all anyway.

100th Post / End Week 23
So I guess it's pretty cool that I have kept up with the blog for this long. And while I still haven't reached my goal after 100 posts, I'm well on my way to it.
I put in a relatively short session yesterday, but a good one anyway. I've almost completely recovered from my worst session since the blog started. It's clear I won't get 60k hands played this month, and I guess I'm not too upset. 40k hands is still in reach and will be good enough. As far as september goes, 40k hands will be my goal for that month as well. Between the move, and setting up the new place, that might prove to be my toughest hand goal for one month yet.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1406185 I really can't explain hands like this. Every once in a while, things just seem to make sense to me. He's representing one hand in my opinion. His timing also suggested the same thing. I don't think many people could have saved money here.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1406193 Crucial river check by me after two INSTA calls.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1406195 In this hand, "Arcadefire" had just made a monster noob bluff. He utg min raised with Q4o and called my raise. I had KK vs his Q4o but gave up on the hand after my flop c bet on Axx all one suit. He then over-shoved the river for 250
on Axxxx 4 hearts with Qhi and showed. I had no heart of course. Since "patient" is a tight regular I was willing to play arcade all in and sweat a non spade turn. Wootsauce.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1406199 I guess Q2 and Q4 are possible in the BB but I really felt like a shove was necessary by me. Still had to think about it though.
Week 23 Total +$365 (not including yesterday's net) - not bad considering -$1300 on 8/20

Just in the nick of time
1,695 Hands
I got stacked on the first hand of the day, but then everything seemed to go my way. This put me back on track, and I'm pretty relieved to be honest.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1381198 OPP takes an awkward line, and some may argue that if I call the turn I must call the river. In this case I felt comfortable getting a better read on the river as his turn lead was normal speed, but the river shove was insta.

Hot Start

I'm running really hot to start the month. I'm on my game and things are going my way.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1343596 I smelled something really fishy going on in this hand and got out of there losing the min.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1343599 Another hand where I really thought something was on, and got out of there losing next to nothing with an underboat.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1343605 More quads.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1343626 Is this totally awful? At the time it felt like an insta fold. Lots more kids doing the check call lead out with big hands lately.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1343629 More quads; massive monies.
I looked over my site specific PT stats and saw something a little crazy. At Fulltilt my bb/100 is about 3.1 over 70k hands, yet my Bodog bb/100 is 12.8 over 40k hands! Boy I wish I could run more tables:(

July Results / End Week 20
38,720 Hands
So after realizing how high 5bb/100 was compared to an average winrate, I'm much less disappointed with my results this month. Also, I realize just how easily my winrate jumps around even after 40k hands in a month. For example, if I ended the month with a 600$ win my bb/100 could jump as much as .8. Here are the results.
Week 20 total +$616 + $180 bonus = +$796
July Total +$2,760 NLHE (3.6bb/100) +$979 bonuses and rakeback = +$3,739

Week 19?
3,463 Hands Since 7/28
So I recently realized I forgot to recap week 19 but thats OK cause nothing really happened that week anyway. I only played like 2500 hands that week as I was in Las Vegas. I'll just skip it.
I've snooped around some other blogs and realized just how hard going 5bb/100 over a 50-60k hands sample is. I've also seen several 50-60k stretches of break even play as well from some of the most winning players at 1-2. While I hope to be slightly more consistent that that, I will definitely keep that in mind in the coming months.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1316073 Unfortunately, internet poker is coming down to these types of hands again. It's pretty much a cooler catching contest. It started to remind me of the 1-2 6max games when the only action you get is with hands like these. Your profit is basically trying to go 5-4 on hands like these. OR going 5-5 and just losing slightly less then everyone else in situations like these.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1316079 This hand was real bad, and I guess you can make an argument for folding, but getting 3:1 I don't see why he can't have the case J just as easily as the case A.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1316082 I really messed up on this hand. I thought he had $56 left and not $560. The sicker part was that he folded KK! This is due to the fact that he was so deep, but still, kids on the internet should be stacking off here like every time :(
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1316093 I guess looking back at this hand it's a clear fold right?

Tip-Toeing
2,993 Hands
I was able to make some small steps towards my goal yesterday which was actually no small feat as I started the day stuck a bunch. I've taken a lot of beats the last couple days, and knowing that just taking back one of those pots would really skyrocket my results this week is both encouraging and disappointing. I hope I can turn up the heat for the last 8k hands this month.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1306692 This guy really overplayed his hand :P
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1306695 Much tougher spot than it appears. Guy is telling me that he is all in. I got one back on this fold, what do you think?
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1306698 Should I be checking that turn?
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1306701 Annoying fold but I think a correct one.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1306704 I suckout pretty good here, but seriously, am I supposed to be folding this many overpairs?
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1306708 This guys is a 40/7 and button cold calls. He ended up with K9, but I wasn't ready to give all credit on the flop. Bad? I just can't fold the flop imo.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1306712 This guy got a flat tire trying to take me to valuetown.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1306722 Am I supposed to bet the turn?
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1306728 I got killed with sets yesterday. Implied odds through your mother's roof on this hand. Guy is a weak station.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1306734 Throw up and fold?
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1306736 My AA gets the bronze medal vs. KK and QQ but I was first out of the hand.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1306743 Is this just awful on my part? I forget the guys stats, but I know he isn't min raising with a flush draw there. I dunno.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1306748 Ultra annoying when the guy shows up with the AK overboat after just calling a raise preflop.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1306755 Look how much value I missed with those stack sizes! WTF OPP GO ALL IN! Boy was I mad here. Can I really c/r all in?
I didn't realize how many real honest questions I had about the session till right now. I kept the beat posting to a min tho!
I also looked up one of the regulars on Fulltilt at 2+2 and saw how ridiculous his stats were. He says he's had 4 losing days in about 4 months sporting a 10bb/100 win rate. He plays a 28/19 which is pretty sick at a full ring table. He is a very tough opponent and I can attest to his stats that he posted. Although I don't feel like I can adopt his style, I definitely took some pointers from a recent "well" post (where everyone gets to ask any question and he answers.) It's good to see people able to beat a game for more than 2-3bb/100. Maybe there is still hope that I can keep up a 5bb/100 win rate.
It was also funny seeing people with a 4k bankroll at the 200 max forums. Not that I think 20 buy ins is too little, but I just realized how over rolled I am for this limit. 125 Buy ins a ton. I just hope I can rock here for maybe another 150k hands and with a good win rate, start moving up to the 400max with 100 buy ins.

So I got kind of a rude welcome back from the online poker world. Pretty rough hands last night, I'd better get used to that again.
Anyway, the date is set for Las Vegas. I signed a lease on my apartment for September 20th! This is a little later than I had expected but it gives me an extra month to get things settled in poker and put away some more money. I'm very excited. The place is about 5 minutes from the strip, which will be extra convenient for all the visitors I'll be getting.

So I've been hovering around 25k and really haven't been able to get much going lately. I also haven't been playing as much this week. I leave for Vegas tomorrow and look to play mostly the 1-3 No Max at the Wynn. Hopefully I come home with a move in date! I'm going to check out a couple of the prospective move in spots, and if I find what I want I should be able to apply right on the spot.

I haven't had a session like this in a while. It got pretty frustrating and I was pretty down when it was over but I noticed my recovery time was much better. I usually would take several hours if not all day to cool off after a session like this. Also, i'd never be able to go to sleep. After last nights session I took an hour and watched YouTube and was ok to sleep. Baby steps I know but it's something.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1250934 Was this just severely overplayed? He actually almost folded, but I just figured him for a pair and draw at best and could get him to fold. If he has AQ he might fold too.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1250942 Boo Hiss
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1250945 This was actually a 1 outer.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1250946 After the hand I was obviously like, "Jamie stupid raise" but was it really? His river value looked really weak and I can beat a lot of 2 pair combos. I think a set normally goes for it all on the river ace no? Or maybe this actually WAS a horrible shove?

On a side note, I've now been asked by several people to post hands that I actually win. I can see how this would be slightly more entertaining for people than only watching hands that I lose. Obviously I need less help with the all ins I win, but I will make a conscious effort to start saving some winners.

So this week I'm bouncing around even. Up just a little now.
Full Tilt disconnected everyone last night, and I was in the middle of a pot with 2 pair going to the river three way. I cam back folded which REALLY pissed me off cause I lead the river. It's one thing if MY computer disconnects but when they disconnect everyone that's completely unacceptable.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1247752 I was SO close to folding! I even chatted about it in the text box.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1247759 Good laydown here, OPP had 88:)

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1211516 See I really start to 2nd guess these, but at the time it seemed so easy with the timing tells. But then these hands happen...
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1211520 Really bummed cause I planned the hand out really well. Turn safe I check, turn bad I weak lead. O well..

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1211533 Against an aggro regular, who posted his blind this hand! I can't give credit every single hand. Against another opp I guess I just call the min 3 bet, but he knows I could be taking advantage of his post.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1211535 I really thought committing myself on the turn was right?

I was gunna talk about my trip to the Taj which was fun. But it doesn't really matter. I'm sick, I haven't stopped coughing in a week. I had to pay $200 for a 4mph speeding ticket in New Jersey. I had to blow several hundred on new computer shit to get my monitor running, and have no lag when I play. I just had my worst losing session since february netting a whopping -$1k. It came at the worst possible time too.
As we speak, my keyboard stopped working, and handpost just froze, for the first time ever.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1170160 My first stack off on the 6th hand of the day.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1170164 Huge pot I lose. I'd normally fold this river but he is 34/26 in my records. Plus the immediate previous hand he went out of his way to push me off of a pot. I play with him often and he basically looks to call every one of my raises and check raise every street.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1170168 Stacked again.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1170169 This guy min raises every c bet ever. I just call the flop cause I really think I'm ahead. Then on the river, I start to worry, but I'm getting 4:1. Fuck me.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1170171 Fuck another cooler!
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1170177 Obviously. Heck if I see a flop it's still set over set.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1170179 ANOTHER regular gets an early christmas gift. Another aggressive opp who will try and raise me off of a large range, and will try and steal a would be split pot with a 5. But come the fuck on with that river card!

Same
1,318 Hands
Same story different day. I only played a little over 2 hours cause my brother came over to help with computer issues. We worked on this thing for like 3 hours. I'm determined to get this monitor running perfectly so I'm ordering a new board and video card. O yeah, 4 gigs of ram too.... fucking full tilt. After this mess, I can convert my PT database to postgreSQL and get poker ace hud running too. No way my system can handle 9 tables, with PT importing, and pokeracehud going. Right now there is a little lag as it is. Apparently putting info out on a screen as big as mine is really hard on the system.
O also, my new video card should let me expand to another 30" monitor. I really want 2 of these things cause they are so pretty. I also like my 9 tables to be really big, and I can fit about 9 real big ones on the 30". The other will be for browsin' and stuff. I cant wait till I have bags of money and I got my 60 inches of display up. I'm gunna need a bigger desk.....
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1164651 There were about 6 or 7 of these $150-$250 pots that I lost yesterday in the same fashion. This was by far the funniest. Notice how the guy said "NH" before he called with his 58 and hit the runner runner gutshot.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1164654 These hands were back to back on the same table.
There were a bunch more, but it's crazy how 2 wack hands determine a session. Give me these 2 and I'm cruising. Just hasn't gone that way for a while now. The good news is that even though I haven't been playing as much, I did not take into account the possibility of 550-575 hands per hour. This is good.
Oh, no cards today cause I'm going to court in Atlantic City for that thing I posted about last month or 2 months ago. I will play some 1-2 with my buddy at the Taj tho. That should be fun.

Tough Month
3,418 Hands Since 6/8/07
So I ended up taking a day off and that didn't help too much. This month hasn't gone well so far, and I'm starting to worry. I really don't think I'm playing bad, or any different than I have been. I also don't think I can expect myself to overcome the cards I have been getting the last week and a half. Here are some more.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1162311 Standard stack.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1162323 These pots aren't big, but about 15 of these add up and make a difference. This was the funniest of the bunch of $100+ pots.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1162326 Set vs top pair and flush draw.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1162328 This is pretty much the #1 problem I had with 6 max. I put in the big reraise with AK preflop, but I'm not comfortable just shoving the flop. Is shove the right play?
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1162340 AA stacked.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1162353 Brutal turned set over set.
So yeah, these were the lowlights. Lotta 100-200 pots just not even mentionable. Lets hope things pick up eventually.

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1151490 I wish he had just shoved this river. Would have been an easy fold.

Damn Monitor
1,544 Hands - since june 1
So I've been a lot busier than anticipated the last couple of days. I got my new monitor, which I'm using now, but its flickering colors on certain backgrounds. We've decided this is a hardware problem, but not a monitor problem. It should be fixed monday.
So I played about 4 hours total in the last 2 days and the hand total is slightly high for that. I 8 tabled for the first time last night and It was good. I was able to focus more easily because my attention was kept on the game. There is still considerable downtime when playing 6 tables and I usually wander to instant messages and TV. I will admit however, that starting up tables is a nightmare. There is no auto post blind on full tilt, and is by far the most annoying thing on the planet. Also, their re sizable tables are a joke. They only go by square sizes, so I can't utilize my entire 30" monitor. I still had big enough tables, but just not exactly the way I wanted them.
So after getting used to the monitor and table situation I played ok. There were a lot of nuts out last night which was good, but I lost a $600 pot to a 2 outer and I decided it was time for bed. I was tired, and my throat hurt, so I didn't want to press it. I'm going to be out all day pretty much, so I'll have to get going with this month tomorrow.
By the way, my goal for June is 40,000 hands. 4 hours a day, 22 days this month, 8 tabling at 450 hands an hour yields 39,600 hands. At 8-10bb/100 this month I could be on my way to vegas in like a month.
OH! also its super hard to take notes 8 tabling, and saving Hand histories. We'll see how that goes. Also, I'm going to get some help with this poker ace hud problem. I think if i switch my pokertracker database to postreSQL it might help.

End Week 11
1,407 Hands
2,835 Hands Week 11
Today was tough. I was set up a WHOLE lot, and had several monster vs. monsters, but I really made some necessary laydowns and took home a modest win to say the least. Here's a look.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1134705 My opp turned over A5 at the end of this hand, so I felt really good about my laydown. I can beat his ace ranges 6:5, but his insta pot river was a give away. Money saved.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1134711 Turn sucked here, but I don't think this is a hard laydown at all in retrospect.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1134712 Standard trips fold.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1134713 These hands are great. The board showed the nuts and I just overshove, and I got 2 folds here! +EV!
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1134714 I'm just not sure what I can beat here. JJ and TT are possible, but I really put him on a big pair or a set. This board is relatively dry considering his raising position. I think he's trapping with a big pair.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1134716 Again, this insta-shove screams big pair. I'm just not going broke on a board this dry. I'd feel worse about this check fold, but during play, it just seemed ridiculously obvious. If I can't trust my reads I should choose a different game.
Other than this I got stacked with KK vs AA when I button raised and the SB reraise. We got it AIPF. Also I had 33 vs TT on T83 all one suit. O well.
This week I hardly played. I was moving back home to NY and didn't have much time to play. That's ok. I'm all set up now and ready to get into a groove.

What a Week / End Week 10
1,408 Hands
9,021 Hands - 25.5 Hrs - Week 10 Total
Even after getting stacked a few times today, I pulled out a win. I feel great about my results this week, and after busting my butt putting hands in, I was paid back for my hard work IN FULL. I was in my fair share of set ups today, but none that post worthy. I was stuck about -$600 at my lowest, but kept my wits and grinded through the day. It's hard to get over my recent success at 1-2nl full ring, but I really don't feel like I can't expect 10bb/100 long term. Check out the week totals.

Today was super smooth. Played a little less than I wanted but 1k hands is fine. I won all my races today, and I really got a lot of value in some marginal spots.

Just Rollin' / 40% Goal Completed
1,380 Hands
Back to winning again, and it feels good. Not many big pots today at all, but I could care less. I made a couple river values that I'm very proud of and to be honest, playing that limit session really helped me evaluate my river play. Who would have thought?
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1120108 Sorry buddy, take that 6 outer and shove it. It really felt good to catch a shortstack. These plays by shortstacks annoy me more than anything else.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1120113 I made a big mistake in this hand. I was thinking that if I bet the flop he would just shove. What I realize now is that it doesn't matter. I need to c-bet this flop, and if he shoves, I can just give him credit. Now the turn comes and he puts half his stack in, now instead of making a $40 c bet, I have to play him all in. I never see people post hands that they make mistakes in. O well.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1120118 Valuetown.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1120119 This hand annoyed me. I would have just called the check raise, but it was so small that I think I need to isolate the guy behind me. No way I can give him such a good price on his draw. I thought I put in a good sized raise, but the check raiser typed something in the chat box that lead me to believe he was folding TT-QQ. O well. Mistake raise?
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1120121 These hands are HUGE. I was really pleased that Keith agreed with my laydown here. I think this ability to make laydowns separates me from a lot of low limit poker players. I saved a bunch of money here I think.

Limit Holdem
1,363 Hands
Keith convinced me to play some short handed 2/4 limit he with him today. It was fun, and I ran 49/38 and made some pretty insane plays. I showed down 48o and 25o for winners early on, and also lost some pots with ridiculous lines like here. http://www.pokerhand.org/?1116966 In that hand, I actually chose my line preflop (lol) and just went with it. But because of my image, and the softness of the table, I was able to school people with lines like this. http://www.pokerhand.org/?1116969
I ended up beating the game for 20bb in about 120 hands, and I had a really good time. I can't say the same for my NLHE today.
The last two days I just couldn't get much going. I'd win one big pot, then not win a hand for an hour. Then suck out huge, but get sucked out on huge right after. I'm breaking even, and as far as I'm concerned, breaking even while running not-so-great is ok in my book. Here is a hand that stumped me today
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1116976 I checked the turn here, and even looking back on it, I'm not that upset with it. I wanted to react to his hand. And his bet screamed to me like he started with an ultra strong hand, but was now worried about the double flush draws and straight draws. He actually showed down AcTc, but his bet on the turn really fooled me. I could have lead the turn, and likely checked the river. There are about 30 scare cards that can come on the river. O well. I'll be looking at this hand several times before tomorrow's session.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1116978 This hand was cool. He leads for over pot here, and with $70 left behind him, I was not fooled at all. I raised in EP and it's obvious to him that I likely have a big ace. He showed 444. I rule.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1116982 Here I make a not so standard flop check, but I've been doing it more often head up in position, ESPECIALLY on Full Tilt. It's a great way to squeeze some value out. I put myself in a tough spot by showing weakness to start but I ended up making the correct decision. The guy showed 333. People seemed to be showing me a lot of hands today. I appreciate it, as it bodes well for my confidence.
In other news, my sleeping schedule has completely changed. I no longer wake up tired. Ever since graduation, I've been sleeping between 8 and 9 hours a night and waking up refreshed. This may seem normal, but to me it isn't. If I went to sleep at 1, and had a class at 2pm the next day, I would struggle to get out of bed by 1pm. It's crazy how stress can affect my sleeping pattern. I've woken up before 11:30AM every morning for the last 9 days. I haven't done this since freshman year of high school, where I had no choice.
I want to talk about variance and baseball, but I'll save that for tomorrow.

She smiled louder than I had expected
1,426 Hands
I bought a cd off of itunes today. Will Stratton came out with his first cd this month. It's along the lines of Sufjan Stevens' acoustic stuff, so I'm listening to it right now. It's very good so far.
I wanted to talk a little about playing poker when no one realizes it. I have two roomates, and they often ask for favors while I'm playing poker. My desk is in the living room facing three large windows in the front of my apartment. I placed it there so I wasn't stuck in my room for hours and hours at a time. Also, I was the one to find the apartment after MANY days and weeks of searching, so I decided to put my desk wherever I wanted.
So about asking favors, I really don't mind, but I often explain to them that I cannot stop what I'm doing. "Hey can you help me move this?" yeah sure, "ok 1 second.... ok lets move it" sorry dude can't for a sec, I have AQs, 44, J8s on the button and I flopped a junk 2 pair. These windows of opportunity to do anything are very small.
I also don't flip out anymore at the computer when I'm losing. So to the average person, it just looks like I'm uninvolved with anything when I play. The same goes for phone calls. I often talk on the phone and tell someone I'm playing cards. I don't mind talking for a bit on the phone, but if I need to make a decision, it's hard to just cut someone off in the middle of a sentence. "HOLD ON" and I put down the phone. This can be very very rude, but if I chose to pick up the phone, I'm going to have to do that sometimes.
Going to the bathroom while playing 350+ hands an hour can be a nightmare also. At least twice a day, I sprint back and forth to my computer. All it takes is one missed hand to alter your entire session. I didn't work on being an extremely patient, disciplined poker player, to miss my one opportunity in 1,000 hands to win a monster pot.
I used to hang up on people practically when I lost a big pot on the phone. Now I handle it much better.
I think it's important for me to realize that what I am doing really is work. I'm going to be doing this as a career, and I'd better start treating it like a career. Although I think it's my responsibility to make the people around me realize that this game I'm playing on my computer is actually important.
I'm not sure if I've come off as angry in this post. It certainly wasn't my intention, but I refuse to read over my posts before posting to check as see.
Things are ok right now. Things are even good. I think my family is really starting to see some very good results from my poker playing. They are supportive even without really knowing exactly what I'm doing. It will be an adjustment when I get home, but I think if I establish that when I'm playing poker I really can't do anything else, things will be fine.
As far as poker, today was rough all around. Many many coolers/set ups/beats, but I am extremely pleased with my results. I' m most proud of keeping my cool.
http://www.pokerhand.org/?1113382 This hand demonstrates my ability to be conscious of my table surroundings even while multitabling. I almost timed out preflop. As soon as the reraise went in I stopped in my tracks. This ability to lose next to nothing with KK vs AA really makes me believe that I can be really good one day.

Worst Beat Possible
1,500 Hands
Today was great. I was pretty much on fire from the get go. The tables were soft on full tilt and on bodog, and I took full advantage. Although I got some serious beats today, I still pulled in about 4 buy ins. I got 2 outed one one of the last hands where I flopped a boat and that cost me about $450. If not for that I'd have had my best 1-2nl day ever. I'll certainly take this day everyday.
OH! I dished out the worst POSSIBLE beat mathematically in poker. He had 99.899% equity on the flop!!!!!! It was sweet, check it out.

Jump Start
894 hands
So for the last 8 days I have to play cards in boston, I was shooting for about 30 hours of play. That should yield about 10k hands. May will be the last month I speak in terms of hours, as I will then switch to hands played. I will still record how many hours I play, but I'm probably going to start another mini goal for 40k hands in June.
I wasn't planning on playing yesterday but I put in about 900 hands with good results. I hope I can roll through this week, and take $18,000 home with me. For those of you that don't know, my original bankroll goal for when I graduated college was 10k. This quickly jumped to 20k and now 30k.
Some ass on bodog lead out pot in a 3 way raised pot with 77 on 2x6c7c; I paid him off with my KK. But still a good session. I'm never giving bodogers credit there, sorry.

Why no poker/End Week 9
So I graduated College. That's pretty cool... MOVING ON!
I didn't play at all while I was home and I figured that's ok. I'm back in boston and have about 8 days to play before I move the rest of my stuff home for good. I should actually be able to play enough while I'm here to get to 60 hours for the month of May. That would be good. Then my goals change for summer. Instead of shooting for hours played, I'm going to shoot for 40,000 hands in June and July. I should be able to do this in about 90 hours. And at 7.5-10bb/100 you can do the math.
O by the way I just ordered a sweet ass 30" dell monitor. 3007wfp-hc. Holler! I'll start running 2 more tables once I get that set up at home. That equals 110 more hands per hour; sweet.
Week 9 Net +$232, (+$576 rakeback) = +$808

Short Break
So I made a couple silly folds yesterday, which I guess is better than silly calls. I try to separate myself from the "I gotta go broke on this hand" mentality. I'm still trying to find a balance between just going with big hands on the flop, and making world class laydowns. No limit is about folding, and while in the last week I've made maybe 3 too many folds, I don't think I'm folding too much. Let's put it this way, those 3 folds cost me $255. If I called every time I was in those sticky spots this week, and just submitted to the fact that I "HAD" to go all in with my overpair, it would have cost me about $1200. I will be making some adjustments of course, but I certainly do not just want to blindly shove every flop with TPTK.
My family is about to arrive in boston. Tomorrow is my graduation, and I'll be back in NY tomorrow night. The plan is to get back to playing a little at home on monday, and then when I get back to boston in a week, I'll just pump out 1,500-2,000 hands a day.

End College/End Week 8
Week 8 - 4,434 hands
So that's it. College was pretty much a breeze anyway I guess. Still feels good as hell to be done. Although I don't have any class, it is still going to be hard for me to play much the rest of the month. This weekend i'll be with the family and mother's day. I actually go home to NY on the 12th, the day of graduation. I'll be home for maybe 6 days and then I have to come back to Boston to get the rest of my stuff/play a gig on the 26th. So I think the plan will have to be, chill at home, and when I get back up here, just try and bang out 2k hands a day. We will see.
So I'm focusing more on how many hands I play rather than hours. For May I'm looking for 5k hands a week, and 21k hands a month. But once I'm settled at home in June, I'm going to really kick it up. 42k hands a month. Believe it or not, I can achieve that in about 120 hours. I can't wait to start seeing some serious results this summer.

There were some more, including some annoying hands, but I just don't feel like it. This week was ok but clearly not the 25bb/100 I was pulling in for a while. I haven't been running SUPER HOT but I won't complain with these results. I missed value in 2 hands over the week that cost me a couple hundred. O well.

Swing City
Yesterday's session was crazy! I must have been all in 11 times in 1000+ hands. I started the session with 3 brutal beats, and then went on a complete tear. I must have been showing +$1000 at the tables minus the initial downswing. Then more swings followed with a late run for a decent session. I had a lot of hands saved, but I'm going to try and save the KK vs QQ all in on turn slash 2 outer bad beat hand histories for another day.
More importantly, the New York Yankees signed Roger Clemens. I am extremely happy with this as I enjoy watching 130+ games a year. I'm also an avid fantasy baseball player. As soon as Pavano went down (again) and talks of surgery were in the air, I knew it was only a matter of time.
Soooo, I'm in the green for May now.
